Folly Beach is home to good east coast surf, sea turtles & and is a great destination for surfer's, kite boarders and all outdoor enthusiast. If your a local then you already know your favorite surf spots, but if you just passing through looking for good waves then you best bet is the Washout. Sometimes the Washout can get crowded so if you go left or right of the main spot you can still find some good rides. Other spots to check would be near the pier or just check one of the many beach access's to see what the waves are doing. If you are looking for wind, Folly is a good place to start. On good wind days you can go from the county park to the Morris Island lighthouse. Folly is also a good starting place for a long down winder trip to some of our neighboring islands.

When you are out here make sure to stop by the surf shops & our local eateries. You will find that Folly Beach has it's own unique personality which is reflective of the shop's, restraunts and bars.
